The finger from NY Fashion Week

There is no mistaking what this hat by Miquel Adrover has to say, the important queston would be:  is it your style?

I love all sorts of hats, but this one reminds me of a dunce hat of days gone by, so no, not for me.

Fantabulous News x 3 = Tremendous Joy!

Recently I received the wonderful news that Tease Publishing had accepted not one, not two, but all three books in my 'Come' trilogy - shapeshifting erotic romances - and I had to share the news!

The 'Come' series delves into the lives of three brothers who aren't the typical Russian émigrés.  To make life more trying, they aren't able to be truly happy until they fully accept who they are and what the future holds for them.  Only once that happens will the women they love respond to their call and come.

"Come Back" is the first book and shares Mikhail Ivanovich's, the eldest Ivanovich brother, path to reclaiming love and will be out this Spring with "Come to Me" [book 2] - Nikolai's story - and "Come and Stay" [book 3] - Aleksandr's story - to follow.

Soon I'll be sharing more snippets and treats from the series here and there, so keep your eyes open for some seriously sexy Russian shifters.  Meanwhile, yes, they are Russian but they live in NYC.  Maybe you'll cross their paths in Central Park or circling the Empire State Building.

Smooches at the Drive-In is part of the Blisse Kisses with Heart

"Fuck, baby girl, your mouth is so warm and wet, there's only one other place my dick likes to be more and that's in your perfectly lush pussy." While he spoke, his finger slid over her cheek to her mouth, resting near her stretched lips.

After a moment, he put his hands beneath her arms and pulled her up until her lips rested against his. The man could kiss a saint and bring them to orgasm. He licked along the partially opened seam her panting mouth presented, and finally teased the tip inside for short forays, tempting her to shatter.

Only it wasn't enough.

Not by half.

She shifted and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him even closer. Deepening their kiss, tangling her tongue with his, she was desperate to have him and didn't keep this information to herself. There was no holding back a smile of victory when he pulled away and she finally realized how close he was to cracking. This was where she wanted him so she could push just enough to have the words she needed him to say spill from his beautiful mouth.

"Straddle me."

They may not have been exactly what she wanted to hear, but they worked magic on her all the same.

Get ready, I am talking movies today!

I love movies and am fairly easy to please but there hasn't been much out that called out to me, not like The Decendants and The Artist did.  I enjoyed those film and am hungry for more, well, there are a few coming that I shall see and thought I'd share them.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
No, that is not a typo, and the trailer hints at a delightful treat.  It is open in the US, although limited so I'm hoping it goes wider soon or I'll have to go into the city to see it.  [The trailer and others is available on the site above.]

Mirror, Mirror!
Opens March 30
I think this one looks fun and going without any caffiene, specifically Cokes, I want a good laugh!  [Careful, the music plays automatically and a bit of a hunt to find the mute button, but there is a trailer available.]

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
Opens May 4
We had tried to see this one when in England and failed.  That said, this one looked wonderful and a good laugh as well.  [The trailer is there and automatically starts, although the mute button is easy to find.]

Snow White and the Huntsman
Opens June 1
Ooo, looks a bit dark and beautifully filmed, yes please!  [The trailer is there and automatically starts, the mute button is on the right under the box of text]

Can you tell I like trailers but am annoyed with how they automatically play?  Yes, I am!

Are there any movies that you can't wait to see?

The best business card ever, EVER!

Advertising agency Draftcb+Ulka, based in India, created the best business card I ever have seen...the BEST!

What makes it stand out, be memorable, and represent the business well?

They printed the wrapper of a piece of chocolate with all the appropriate details while passing over a sample of the goods.

You're very lucky premium chocolate boutique chain Choko la - that's a card I would keep - after I devoured the treat, of course!

Thinking About Kiwis on this Hump Day!

For the past couple of weeks I've had a New Zealand tv series playing on Netflix while I work.  The show is fabulous fun and it has me thinking about the hunkiest of hunks from the land of Kiwis, Jonah Lomu!

Oh those legs!

He played rugby and led a seriously mean haka [here's great clip on YouTube of the All Black's vs Tonga who have their own pre-game ritual], both of which were on my mind when I wrote New Zealand in my An Invitation to the World series - specifically, one of the two retired rugby heroes, Maori hunk Timu Tuhaere.

Snakes + Jewelry + Book Talk = read on!

On Saturday I was flipping through the April issue of InStyle when I came across a page full of jewelry, snake jewelry.

Normally a crowded page doesn't make me pause, but it did this time and I laughed thinking about the one piece of reptile jewelry that I've had a character wear.  It was a ring and Bodhi Burke, the hero from India in the An Invitation to the World 2 series - oh, and it didn't go on his finger :-)

Where art and pop-ups collide

In my latest Movable Stationary [Vol 20, No. 1, 02/12], newsletter from the Movable Book Society, there's a column called Poppits filled with interesting information plucked by Ellen Rubin - The Popup Lady - from around the paper engineering world.  One of the items was subtitled "New Artists' Books" and I was intrigued.

Tauba Auerbach, an artist, published in conjunction with Printed Matter, a 6 volume set titled [2,3] that are signed and numbered [only 1000 were printed] and it is sold out!

Auerbach engineered 6 geometric shapes to pop-up, one as much as 18", before laying flat.  Each are full of color and a great example of when art and pop-ups collide.  A yummy treat, but there are no more to be had and at $550 each, it was a steep price to pay.

Another example of this type of pop-up which also happens to be available and more affordable is the A Pop-up Book for Children of All Ages (Classic Collectible Pop-Up) series by David Carter.  As I own a few and often gift them to others, I talked about them during my recent week of pop-up love.

Naughty Thought for Monday Mixes with Fashion

Let me think about it, um, NO!  No frickin' way!  Anyone else can wear this dress and be proud, I simply don't have it in me.  I can appreciate the avant garde and unique, but I simply can't get my head around this one - can you?  No, would you or someone you know wear this out and where would it be...do share.

The designer, Gianni Molaro, showcased his breast dress during the 2012 Alta Roma [not one of the big, famous and infamous fashion week] show.

A Kind of Naughty Laugh from Italy!

Maria had just gotten married, and being a traditional Italian she was still a virgin. On her wedding night, staying at her mother's house, she was very nervous.

Her mother reassured her; 'Don't worry, Maria, Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take care of you. Meanwhile, I'll be making pasta.'

So, up she went. When she got upstairs, Tony took off his shirt and exposed his hairy chest. Maria ran downstairs to her mother and says, 'Mama, Mama, Tony's got a big hairy chest.'

'Don't worry, Maria,' says the mother, 'all good men have hairy chests. Go upstairs. He'll take good care of you.'

So, up she went again. When she got up in the bedroom, Tony took off his pants exposing his hairy legs. Again, Maria ran downstairs to her mother. 'Mama, Mama, Tony took off his pants and he's got hairy legs!'

'Don't worry! All good men have hairy legs. Tony's a good man. Go upstairs and he'll take good care of you.'

So, up she went again. When she got there, Tony took off his socks and on his left foot he was missing three toes. When Maria saw this, she ran downstairs. 'Mama, Mama, Tony's got a foot and a half!'

Her Mama said, 'Stay here and stir the pasta.'

** Thank you for the naughty laugh WooWoo! **

How some handsome hunk ends up a Hump Day Hottie here on Hot Thoughts Blog

You'd think it would be easy.  A hot guy is found and posted, done, but no, my mind often makes it a more convoluted process.  In the case of today's man, the gorgeous Scotsman Gerard Butler, it started in a completely different direction.

The kick off point for me was actually trying to figure out when was the Ides of March - 3, 5, 7, 15 were all mentioned - as a relatives 60th birthday was around then.  The relative is English so the mind twittered over there and I wondered who our First Footer was this year because we weren't in jolly 'ol where it was a more common activity - at least it is in the North.  From there I thought of Scotland and how the Dressed to Kilt fashion show was coming soon (April), that's when Gerard Butler who'd been in the back of my mind from the 300 movie came forward.  The man is handsome, but when he wore a leather kilt and pink shirt while carrying a sword, well, he took it to another level.

Now, the other day on Pinterest - love that place, someone posted today's Hump Day Hottie pic and it is actually my favorite of him...so here's Gerard Butler, enjoy!

Book Talk takes me to France, Paris in particular with ...

Versailles by Valérie Bajou
Published by Abrams Books

A spectacularly opulent relic of royal wealth and power comes alive in Versailles. Highlighting the château’s vibrant, tumultuous past, the book covers everything from its metamorphosis from humble hunting lodge to palace, to the dismantling of its collections during the French Revolution and its restoration and status as a UNESCO World Heritage site today. In addition, the singular château is explored from top to bottom in an extravagantly extensive photographic tour that reveals the many priceless artistic and architectural treasures of this palace of palaces.

This was a random find and I am utterly delighted!

Inside is full of those types of pictures you want to take when you there but can't because of lighting, visitors and, well, skill - at least for me personally the ability to take a good picture is not nearly as good as others.  That said, what makes this book a true treasure and the binding makes it a gift option as well.  The simple binding offers a substantial feel to the book and the gold edged pages make it a yummy delight to leaf through.  Seriously, this proves books can still be made beautifully and not cost a bloody fortune.

Thank you Bajou and Abrams, feeling the love for Versailles all over again.  One of the more powerful gems calling me to come revisit is the Fountain of Enceladus by Gaspard Marsay (1675-77) - so powerful - do I sense another Mythological Messes Redux story brewing?

He's gorgeous!

I am so very happy to say Happy 9th Birthday to Whiskey Creek Press!

In honor of the day they've put 9 books on sale for .99 cents...cool...and Call Me Lucifer is one of them!  Double Cool!  If you haven't read this paranormal erotic romance + bondage and D/s, then head over to their bookshelves and pick it up along with many other gems.

Here's a snippet to tempt you further...it's Lucifer, tempatation is going to happen :-)

Call Me Lucifer
published by Whiskey Creek Press Torrid

He is much more than the horrific job title and now he needs to prove it to her!

Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness, works hard dishing out punishments and asks for little in return, until now. He's been waiting an eternity for a woman who would bring out his gentle side, his need to love and be loved in return. He’d started to wonder if she even existed but at last he’s found her, in a courtroom arguing for a tougher sentence.

After his first introduction to Nia Adams, a sexy petite firebrand, he spends all his time on the surface at her side. They have a serious relationship and he’s sure the emotion bouncing between them is love. Then she lies to him about how she feels.

While difficult to hear, the lie opens a door. It gives him the only chance he’ll ever have to show her who the man behind the horrific job title really is. And he takes it with both hands.

Excerpt

After a few more minutes of trying to calm her roaring thoughts, Nia started to release a breath she hadn’t known she’d been holding. Only it caught in the back of her throat as a deep voice resonated along the hallway.

“Ms. Adams, the door is now open. Come.”

Nia sat perfectly still, unblinking and unable to move from the seat she’d only a few seconds before had been so eager to escape. Each word he spoke seeped straight through her body, settling to a slow and steady pulsating thump in her pussy. It was the wickedest reaction she’d ever had to a man speaking to her.

How was she supposed to conduct herself in a calm and professional manner, when the mere sound of his voice sent her lust spilling from her? She never wanted to meet the owner face-to-face. There was no doubt such a meeting would surely lead to her downfall. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t at her side that day. Somehow she knew he was the person she was supposed to see.

Looking down the passageway, Nia noticed the previously closed door at the end stood ajar.

“Now.” The single word reeked of power as it blasted down the hallway, from the room beyond the opened door, and through her body.

Dang! The trouble she was in had suddenly taken an unexpected turn and she couldn’t see a way around it. She stood up quickly and turned to walk toward the office, only her feet wouldn’t move. Bracing a hand on the wall to help steady herself, she placed the other over her nervous stomach, and took a deep breath.

She followed it up with another one, thankfully steadier than the last.

Before she could take her first step, the voice growled more deeply than the first time, and her knees trembled. The man was angry, but the sound of his voice turned her on, and tempted her passionate nature to come out and play. Maybe he was an old, ugly troll, with a great voice. Somehow she doubted it, but she’d use whatever helped her get through the meeting.

“You don’t want to upset me, Ms. Adams.”

Muttering to herself about how impatience was not a virtue, she followed it up with how typical of a man to demand rather than request. It was the pep talk she’d needed to get herself moving and she took a step forward with her usual in charge style.

“I can hear what you’re saying.”

Raising a hand to cover her mouth, she gasped, stunned at his ability to see and hear everything she did.

Who was this man and why had she been summoned? She was a good person who didn’t lie, cheat, or steal, and had never hurt a soul. In fact, every single day she did her best at work, finding justice for those who needed it. Surely doing good was the right thing to do.

“Come,” he barked down the hall. Startled, she jumped and started to make her way to the door. The only sound she heard was the solid clicking her heels made as she strode across the marble floor. Because she heard only it, Nia focused on each step she took. She wanted to ensure her footsteps didn’t sound hurried or hesitant, merely confident, sure of where she was going. It was something she could control in the nightmare she found herself in, so she’d take it.

She made it to the end of what felt like an endless length of hallway, paused for a stabilizing breath before stepping through the opened door. Deciding not to be intimidated anymore, Nia nudged the door open further, entered the room, and found it not at all threatening like she’d expected. In fact, it looked how she thought a cozy traditional library to look. It was dark, but there were two magnificent fireplaces on either side of the large yet still intimate feeling room, each with a roaring fire blazing inside. They brought heat and also seemed to supply the only light for the room. She couldn’t see any windows and no other door except the one she’d entered through.

In the flickering firelight, she looked at an imposing Napoleon styled desk with a massive chair resting behind it, facing away from her.

“Shut the door.”

Nia jumped at the seductive tone. For a moment she’d forgotten what had brought her into the room. She needed to get a hold of herself. It was the voice’s fault for sending her thoughts spiraling into unwanted territory. This was definitely not the time or place to think about sex.

Casting her gaze around the room again, she reminded herself that she was not there for her enjoyment, despite her imagination trying to take over. For a second she thought if there were comfortable over-sized couches resting before the fireplaces, she’d be begging for time alone to immerse herself in the greatness of the room. It would’ve been purely rapturous, but there weren’t any, and she was there for a different reason.

Turning around, she shut the door with a quiet snick, only to jump back when the lock shot to with a solid click. Abruptly, she spun around to face the desk, ready to voice her displeasure over how she’d been treated thus far, when the sexy voice growled again. The pulse returned to her pussy with a vengeance.

“Sit down, Ms. Adams.”

A finger appeared from the side of chair, nonchalantly pointing at the chair she assumed was for guests. Wanting to get the meeting over with as quickly as possible, she held back her temper, and moved to sit just as she’d been outside. A rigidly straight back, knees and ankles locked together, feet flat on the floor, and her hands clasped in her lap. She was ready for whatever happened next.
